Who is Loyal Company?

Loyal Company is a brand created by Juan Leal, he was born in 1997 in Cádiz. Juan likes to design and would love to live thanks to that. His designs are trying to contribute a sober and elegant style for the urban culture. Until the moment he has done t-shirts, fanny packs and some hand-painted fingerboards.

How did this collaboration come up?

This collaboration came up in a natural way. Juan Leal and Alberto Padilla have been classmates during some years, so it was question of time.

Juan Leal’s knowledges about the aesthetic and design was what motive us to collaborate. Also it is nice the idea of work and help him in his brand.

Previously at this collection, we did collaborate before, but not as big as the graphics we do in July of 2018. In fact the bet ALP Fingerboard have done in this collaboration has been the biggest in all our history.

According to Juan Leal, ‘This is not the kind of serie, due to a serie follow a style and theme’. This collection represent the styles and symbols that he likes; especially the sober, where less is better.

Juan use the most representative symbol of his brand, a rose. This black rose represent the desperation toward the society disloyal and hypocrite. The use of the mosaic is characteristic from the Art Nouveau Severo give the sobriety that Juan try to reflect in his designs. Also show the quality of the wood, the most symbolic material of the fingerboard.

This deck take an Anime animation about reload a gun, it go with the text ‘I want to die’. This text disappear vertically giving the sensation of the way to suicide. This pass around the head of Juan when he is seeing you all in Instagram.

This design has some characteristics from the fifty’s. The colors that Pantone establish as trend in those years, the pointillism revalued from Lichtenstein, the caricature with comic style referent from Pop style and the use of several famous magazines.

This one is dedicated for all the skaters that suffer marginalization, prejudice and social complain. It comes represented by one of the best from our childhood: Bart Simpson. The graphic has a actual style using bright colors in kitsch images.

Prideful use different styles of some historic cultures. ‘El David’ from Miguel Ángel and the characteristic wine tone representative from the Roman empire. In the other hand, El David go inside a Baroque frame and on a Japanese style bottom. The intention is to give a sensation of pride and magnificence from the old Rome.
